Bluetooth* Not Working on Intel® NUC

This article contains troubleshooting steps to fix issues with accessing Bluetooth* feature on Intel® NUC.

Description

Unable to use Bluetooth on Intel® NUC. Bluetooth device doesn't appear in Device Manager.

Resolution

If you're having issues with Bluetooth, such as missing Bluetooth devices or intermittent connectivity, simply powering down and powering the device back on will commonly fix the issue. After trying that, perform these other troubleshooting steps if the problem continues.

Check BIOSCheck that Bluetooth is enabled in BIOS:
  1. Press F2 during boot to enter BIOS Setup.
  2. Go to Advanced > Devices > Onboard Devices.
  3. Check the box to enable Bluetooth.
  4. Press F10 to save and exit BIOS.
Disable and re-enable BluetoothTry disabling and then re-enabling Bluetooth:
  1. Press F2 during boot to enter BIOS Setup.
  2. Go to Advanced > Devices > Onboard Devices.
  3. Uncheck the box to disable Bluetooth.
  4. Press F10 to save and exit BIOS.
  5. Shutdown the Intel NUC.
  6. Remove the power cord from the Intel NUC, then reconnect it.
  7. Turn the Intel NUC back on and press F2 during boot to enter BIOS Setup again.
  8. Go to Advanced > Devices > Onboard Devices.
  9. Check the box to enable Bluetooth.
  10. Press F10 to save and exit BIOS.
  11. Shutdown the Intel NUC.
  12. Remove the power cord from the Intel NUC, then reconnect it.
  13. Turn the Intel NUC back on.
Check Bluetooth driversInstall the latest Bluetooth drivers available on Download Center for the Intel NUC.
BIOS recoveryTry a BIOS Recovery.
Check antennasFor Intel NUCs where the wireless adapter is installed in an onboard slot:
  1. Open the chassis.
  2. Make sure the antennas are properly connected to the adapter.
  3. Try re-seating the adapter (remove it from the slot and re-insert it). 
  4. Close the chassis.
