What do I do when Hard Drives Aren't Recognized by the Hardware Intel® RAID Controller?
What am I seeing?
Hard drives aren't recognized by the RAID card.
How to fix it
Reseat the hard drives and ensure that they are properly seated in the slot.
Ensure that cables are properly connected to the Intel® RAID Controller and this to the backplane. The image below is an example:
If you need more information on how the cable should be connected, refer to the Hardware User Guide of your RAID card model.
Additionally, consider doing the following:
- Review if drives are tested by Intel. For this action, refer to your RAID card tested hardware list.
- Be sure that the Intel RAID Controller has the latest firmware version.
- Update the BIOS/firmware of the server board into which your RAID card is integrated.
