Scan: Performs a detailed scan of your computer system information and devices.
Selective Scan: You have the option to select specific device nodes to perform a scan in order to potentially reduce the overall scan time. The Intel® System Support Utility defaults to Everything selected for the scan with the exception of Third-Party Logs.
Open: Opens a previously saved configuration file to view in the Intel® System Support Utility interface.
Summary View: Upon completion of a scan, the Intel® System Support Utility automatically transitions to the Summary View screen. This screen displays a high-level summary of system information and installed devices. This information includes OS, Memory, Processor, System Type, Display Adapter(s), Board Information, Network adapters (Wireless and Wired), and Storage Info. Each device has a driver listing where applicable.
Detailed View: From the Summary View screen, you can access the drop-down menu to change between Summary View and Detailed view. Detailed View is a comprehensive list of device information and system information.
Search Functionality: Searches the summary or detailed view in the review page, and filters the results based on the search criteria provided.
Example: If a combination of AND and OR is used together, the search terms can be enclosed in parentheses. For example, Intel AND (storage OR graphics)
Review: Clicking Review takes you back to the Summary and Detailed view.
Save: Saves the scan information to a file.
About Intel® System Support Utility: Clicking the About Intel® SSU link opens the Intel® SSU About screen. The About screen includes a brief description of the application and a link to the Intel® SSU guide and download location and a link to the Intel® Driver & Support Assistant.
Intel Customer Support: Clicking the Intel Customer Support link opens your web browser to the Intel Customer Support landing page.
X: Clicking the X closes the Intel® System Support Utility application. If you completed a scan, you are asked if you want to save the information to a file before exiting.
Copy Information (Copy/Paste) functionality: Intel® System Support Utility supports the ability to copy the information (Item and Value) in the view screen to your clipboard, and then paste the information in any supported text editor or field. To access this functionality, use your mouse to select the information you want to copy, right-click with your mouse, and select copy. Ctrl functions are also supported: Ctrl/A, Ctrl/C.
Following are descriptions of what is available when you view the information in the Detailed View:
Computer: Shows detailed scan information about the computer, including, but not limited to, manufacturer, system model, system type, and processor.
Graphics: Displays a list of all Graphics Devices on your system. Clicking a device name displays the detailed scan information. This information includes but is not limited to Driver Version, Video Processor, and Adapter RAM.
Memory: Information about each memory bank including but not limited to Capacity, Part Number, and Manufacturer.
Motherboard: Board Information, which includes BIOS, Part Number, and Serial Number and Chipset.
Networking: Displays a list of all Network Devices on your system. These Network Devices include all wired and wireless connections.
Operating System: Displays detailed scan information about the operating system, which includes but is not limited to OS Manufacturer and OS Version/Build.
Processor: Displays detailed scan information about the Processor, which includes but is not limited to Chipset, Stepping, and Speed.
Storage: Displays detailed scan information about the Storage Devices, which includes but is not limited to Serial Number, Model, Size.
Third-Party Logging: Provides detailed logging capabilities, including saving the information to the output file and displaying to the dialog. Third-Party Logs consist of System Log Information and DXDiags Logs.
