Do Not Insert PCIe* or Add-In Cards Directly into Rack-Oriented Server Boards
The riser slots on the motherboard are physically capable of accepting any PCI* or PCIe* card, but should not be used without a riser card.
Do not insert a PCIe or other add-in card directly into the motherboard; doing so can permanently damage the board and will void the warranty. The slots on the motherboard are only intended for the riser assembly that comes included with the system.
Only plug PCIe or other add-in cards into the risers that ship with the systems.
