Unknown Device Error in Device Manager When Using Windows 7* on Intel® NUC
What am I seeing?
When using Windows 7*, the Unknown Devices in Device Manager can show multiple errors.
Details on the device show ACPI\MSFT0101.
How to fix it.

D34010WYB, D34010WYK D54250WYB, D54250WYK NUC5i3RYH, NUC5i3RYK NUC5i5RYH, NUC5i5RYK NUC5i7RYH NUC5CPYH, NUC5PPYH NUC5PGYH | This error occurs when you enable the Intel® Platform Trust Technology option on the Security tab in BIOS. Windows 7 doesn't support this setting, so it can be disabled in the BIOS. Windows 8.1* and Windows® 10 do support this setting. |
NUC5i5MYHE, NUC5i5MYBE NUC5i3MYHE, NUC5i3MYBE | To fix the Unknown Device error, download and install the Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2* Service Pack 1. If the error still occurs after installing Service Pack 1, install the Hotfix from KB2920188. The above update(s) clears the error in Device Manager. If the included TPM needs to be used, the operating system must be updated to Windows 8* or later. |
