What am I seeing?

I replaced a failed RAID hard drive with a new hard drive, but it's not rebuilding.

Why am I seeing it?

This behavior is expected. User action is required.

How to fix it

Use the following steps to start a rebuild of a degraded RAID volume after replacing the failed hard drive with a new hard drive of equal or larger size.

  1. Turn on the system.
  2. Open the Intel® Rapid Storage Technology user interface. After the operating system is running, click Intel RST in the start menu or right-click the Intel RST tray icon and click Intel RST.
  3. Click Rebuild to another disk.
  4. Select the new hard drive.
  5. Click Rebuild.
