Jam Byte Code File (.jbc) Definition
A binary file (with the extension .jbc), in the STAPL format, that stores programming data for programming, configuring, verifying, and blank-checking one or more devices in a JTAG chain. You can use JBC Files with the Quartus® Prime Programmer or in embedded processor-type programming environments. You can program all Intel devices supported by the Quartus® Prime software, and EPC2, EPC4, EPC8, and EPC16 configuration devices, with JBC Files. The JTAG chain can contain any combination of Intel and non-Intel devices that comply with the IEEE 1149.1 JTAG specification.
You can create JBC Files by pointing to Create/Update,and then clicking Create Jam, JBC, SVF, or ISC File on the File menu.
You can also create JBC Files using the Files tab of the Configuration Device Options dialog box, or using the Programming Files page of the Device and Pin Options dialog box.
