XML files Definition
An ASCII text file in the Extensible Markup Language format, developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). XML is a markup language used to describe data, and enables the definition, transmission, validation, and interpretation of data between applications.
The Intel® Quartus® Prime software uses the XML format to describe data in the following file types:
- Component Declaration File (.cmp)
- Conversion Setup File (.cof)
- Design Space Explorer Custom Space File (.dse)
- IBIS model input files
- JTAG Debugging Information File (.jdi)
- PartMiner edaXML-Format File (.xml)
- Pin Planner File (.ppf)
- Signal Tap File (.stp)
- Sources and Probes File (.spf)
- XML Report Database File (.xml)
