Read Information from In-System Memory Commands (Processing Menu)
You access these commands by clicking them on the Processing menu. These commands are available only when the In-System Memory Content Editor is open.
The following commands allow you to update selected words and instances and continuously monitor changes to in-system memory in the In-System Memory Content Editor:
- Read Data From In-System Memory Command— Updates the selected instance Definition in the HEX Editor pane with data from in-system memory.
- Continuously Read Data from In-System Memory Command— Continuously updates the selected instance in the HEX Editor pane with data from in-system memory. You can use this command, for example, to continuously monitor changes to in-system memory.
- Read Selected Words from In-System Memory Command— Updates the selected words in the HEX Editor pane with data from in-system memory.
- Continuously Read Selected Words from In-System Memory Command— Continuously updates the selected words in the HEX Editor pane with data from in-system memory. You can use this command, for example, to continuously monitor in-system memory for changes to the selected words.
Note: Data or words that changed since the last read appear in the HEX Editor pane in either red or blue. Reading data or words from in-system memory is performed
independently of the system clock in the device.
