Programmer Options Dialog Box
Allows you to set general options in the Programmer that control the functionality and item display in the Programmer window.
Show checksum without usercode:
Determines whether the checksum values displayed in the Checksum field in the programming list of the Programmer are calculated with or without JTAG usercodes.
Initiate configuration after programming:
Specifies that configuration devices configure attached devices automatically after the Programmer finishes programming the configuration devices.
Display message when programming finishes:
Displays a message when programming or other optional action finishes, such as examining or blank-checking.
Enable real-time ISP to allow background programming:
Allows a MAX® II device to continue to run in-system while new programming data loads into the configuration flash memory (CFM). When you turn on this option, programming data loaded into the CFM does not immediately configure the device.
Halt on-chip configuration controller:
Halts the on-chip auto-configuration controller of the device to allow programming via the JTAG interface. You should halt on-chip configuration when:
- You are configuring the device in Active Serial Programming mode and (a) the active serial configuration device is blank, (b) the active serial configuration device is not present, or (c) an error occurs during configuration.
- An FPGA device is a volatile device. It uses the active serial interface to configure it (configuring mode).
- An active serial configuration device is a non-volatile device. It uses the active serial interface to program it (programming mode) with a header file.
- You are using an enhanced configuration device to configure the target device in Passive Serial Programming mode and an error occurs during configuration.
Automatically check the Program/Configure checkbox when adding SOF:
Automatically enables the Program/Configure checkbox when adding a SRAM Object File (.sof) Definition to the file list.
Configure volatile design security key:
Allows you to apply this option when Stratix® III encryption files are loaded into Programmer. You can then program the volatile design security key rather than the non-volatile security key.
Use bitstream compression to configure devices when available:
Allows you, in passive serial mode, to download compressed bistreams from within the Intel® Quartus® Prime software UI, when the selected device supports bitstream compression.
Use enhanced mode Serial flash loader (SFL) IP as factory default helper image:
When turned on, allows you to choose the enhanced Serial Flash Loader (SFL) IP as a factory default image for generating Jam File (.jam) Definition, Jam Byte Code File (.jbc) Definition, orSerial Vector Format File (.svf) Definition. When turned off, you can only choose the legacy IP.
When you use the Programmer to program an erasable programmable configurable serial configuration (EPCS) device, you may need to use the factory default image if you did not generate IP from a Intel® FPGA IP.
Check block CRCs to accelerate PFL/SFL verification when available:
Turn this on to allow Programmer to verify PFL/SFL settings more quickly by checking block CRCs when they are available.
Enable ECC checking for NAND flash operation:
Turn this on to perform error checking for NAND flash operation.
Unprotect EPCS devices for the erase/program operation:
Turn this option off to override and remove block protection bits set on the EPCS device. You cannot erase EPCS devices with the Programmer if block protection bits are set.
Add extra serial flash page program time on top of the default value being used in the Programmer:
When turned on, allows you to specify extra time in nanoseconds for extra serial flash page programming.
Automatically open as detached window:
If you turn on this option, the Assignment Editor window will automatically open as a detached window.
