The terms used in the node name formats are described as follows:
- <Name> Represents the name you assign for the node.
- <Entity> Represents the alphabetic code (a base 24 number using 24 letters from "A" to "Z", but leaving out "I" and "O") for the name of the entity containing the node.
- <Instance> Represents a numeric indicator of which hierarchical instance of the <Entity> contains the node
- <Type> Represents the type of logic synthesized where L stands for logic cell, P stands for product-term macrocell, and M stands for memory (RAM | ROM).
- <Index> represents a numeric index of the node in the particular hierarchy level.
- Q represents sequential logic (

).
