sequential group (or bus) name Definition
A sequential group (bus) name in an AHDL Text Design File (.tdf) that consists of a list of symbolic names, ports, or numbers, separated by commas and enclosed in parentheses. In a Block Design File (.bdf) or a Quartus® Prime Settings File (.qsf), a sequential group or bus name consists of a series of comma-separated node names.
Example: group (a, b, c)
consists of the nodes
a
, b
, and c
.
In a Block Editor file, a sequential bus name can include a single- or dual-range bus name in a series of names.
Example: a[8..0],dout[6..4]
Similarly, in a QSF, a sequential bus name can include a single-
or dual-range bus name in a series of names; however, each of the
brackets in the bus name must be preceded with a backslash
(\
) .
Example: a\[8..0\],dout\[6..4\]
