remote/local update difference file Definition
A remote update difference file contains the data for new pages added to a Programmer Object File for Remote Update (.pof). Create a Remote Update Difference File with the Convert Programming Files dialog box on the File menu.
A local update difference file contains the data added to page 1 of a Programmer Object File for Local Update (.pof).Create a local update difference file with the Convert Programming Files dialog box.
Remote update difference files and local update difference files use the file name of the output programming file name specified in the File name box of the Convert Programming Files dialog box, and are generated with the following file name construction so as not to overwrite any existing files: <outputprogrammingfilename>_diff.<fileextension>
The following file formats are available in the Quartus® Prime software for remote update difference files and local update difference files:
- Hexadecimal (Intel-Format) Output File (.hexout)
- Jam File (.jam)
- Jam Byte Code File (.jbc)
- Programmer Object File (.pof)
