Start Signal Probe Compilation Command (Processing Menu)

You access this command by selecting Processing > Start > Start Signal Probe Compilation.
Note: The Start Signal Probe Compilation command is not available when a background process is running.

Performs a Signal Probe compilation, which compiles a design without affecting the fitting in the design unless required to find a fit, and routes Signal Probe signals faster than a normal compilation.

For supported device families ( Arria® V, Cyclone® IV , Cyclone® V , MAX® II, Stratix® III, Stratix® IV, and Stratix® V ) , this command performs an engineering change order (ECO) fit on the design. Timing analysis and the Assembler do not automatically run after ECO fitting completes.

Important: When you open a project created in the Quartus® Prime software version 5.1 or earlier in the Quartus® Prime software version 6.0 or later, any Signal Probe pins in the Quartus Prime Settings File (.qsf) Definition are automatically converted from assignments to ECOs when you run the Start Signal Probe Compilation command.
