Default toggle rates for unspecified signals

Allows you to specify toggle rates for the PowerPlay Power Analyzer to use during power analysis. The following choices are available:

  • Default toggle rate used for input I/O signals—Allows you to specify a default toggle rate for the PowerPlay Power Analyzer to assume for all primary I/O signals, which include input I/O, bidirectional (input path), and virtual pins.You can specify the toggle rate as a percentage of clock cycles during which a toggle occurs, or as a number of transitions per second. A transition is defined as a change of state from 0 to 1 or from 1 to 0.

Settings: <toggle rate>

default = "12.5%"

  • Default toggle rate used for remaining signals—Allows you to specify a default toggle rate for the PowerPlay Power Analyzer to assume for all non-input signals. For supported device(Arria II, Arria V,Cyclone III, Cyclone IV, MAX II, MAX V, Stratix III, Stratix IV, and Stratix V) families, you can use vectorless estimation to calculate a toggle rate.
    • Use default value—Directs the PowerPlay Power Analyzer to assume a default toggle rate that you specify. You can specify the toggle rate as a percentage, or as a number of transitions per second.
