Start SignalProbe Compilation Command (Processing Menu)
You access this command by pointing to Start on the Processing menu, and then clicking Start SignalProbe Compilation.
Note: The Start SignalProbe Compilation command is not available when a background process is running.
Performs a SignalProbe compilation, which compiles a design without affecting the fitting in the design unless required to find a fit, and routes SignalProbe signals faster than a normal compilation.
For supported device families (Arria V, CycloneIII, Cyclone IV, Cyclone V, MAXII, StratixIII, StratixIV, and Stratix V) , this command performs an engineering change order (ECO) fit on the design. Timing analysis and the Assembler do not automatically run after ECO fitting completes.
Important: When you open a project created in the Quartus® Prime software version 5.1 or earlier in the Quartus® Prime software version 6.0 or later, any SignalProbe pins in the Quartus Prime Settings File (.qsf) Definition are automatically converted from assignments to ECOs when you run the Start SignalProbe Compilation command.
