The User Flash Memory (UFM) provides access to the serial flash memory blocks in MAXII and MAXV devices. The UFM can be used like a serial EPROM for storing non-volatile information up to 8,192 bits. The hardware interface is a simple 12-pin protocol, which can provide interfaces similar to the industry standards for serial EPROMs. The UFM connects to the logic array through the MultiTrack interconnect, allowing any logic cell to interface with the UFM.
The UFM features two sectors for partitioned sector erase; a built-in internal oscillator that drives internal device logic; program, erase, and busy signals, auto-increment addressing, and a serial interface to the internal device logic with a programmable interface.
You can instantiate a UFM in MAXII and MAXV devices using the altufm megafunction.
