A flexible, open solution that simplifies the connection and management of different OT data sources ranging from conventional sensors (e.g. a temperature or pressure sensor) and OT devices (e.g. a PLC or barcode reader) to smart cameras. The IOTech Open IoT Edge Platform RRK reduces integration costs and time to market for new data driven edge solutions. It enables industrial edge applications to ingest, normalize, aggregate, and analyze device and sensor data and respond to results in real-time. It provides an extensible solution that enables a system to evolve as additional capabilities are deployed. The solution supports a range of edge focused use cases for industrial markets, including Industry 4.0 / smart manufacturing, building automation, smart energy and retail. The fusion of sensor data enabled by the solution allows an existing system to be easily extended to support additional capabilities while protection existing investments. By leveraging the Open IoT Edge Platform RRK it is now possible to create data-driven solutions that augment rather than replace, existing equipment. Key Components Intel® component: Intel® Core™ i, Intel® Xeon® and Intel® Pentium® Processors, Intel® Celeron®, and Intel® Distribution of OpenVINO™ Toolkit OS Support: Ubuntu, Suse CSP: Private/On-Premises Software: IOTech’s Edge Central Open Edge Data Platform & Management Solution, edge hardware including: Advantech UNO-2271G V2 and MIC-770 V2 models or Dell EGW-3200, EGW-5200, Optiplex XE4, PowerEdge R660, R760 and XR4000 models. At its core, the RRK utilizes IOTech Edge Central, a commercial implementation of the Linux Foundation’s EdgeX Foundry, which is a vendor-neutral open source project building a common open framework for IoT edge computing. The solution supports local analytics and decision-making, as well as cloud-based application provisioning that simplifies application lifecycle management for a broad range of different industrial use cases.
