On Sept. 29, 2023, Intel announced the start of high-volume manufacturing using Intel 4 technology in Leixlip, Ireland. Made possible by the extreme ultraviolet (EUV) technology, the use of Intel 4 will help Intel deliver future products, including the upcoming Intel® Core™ Ultra processors (code-named Meteor Lake) and future-generation Intel® Xeon® processors.
Production at Intel Ireland’s Fab 34 is also the first use of EUV in high-volume manufacturing in Europe. It is the next step in Intel’s goal of creating a first-of-its-kind end-to-end leading-edge semiconductor manufacturing value chain in Europe.

Intel Ireland: Manufacturing Intel’s Latest Tech and Serving Foundry Customers
Intel Ireland’s newest factory to come online, Fab 34, is producing chips in high volume on the Intel 4 process node, the company’s most advanced process technology. At the same time, nearby Fab 24 manufactures chips for customers of Intel Foundry Services. Fab 34 officially opens to high-volume #manufacturing on Sept. 29, 2023. It marks the first use of extreme ultraviolet (EUV) technology in high-volume manufacturing in Europe.
