Purpose & Features

This is a release of the Intel® vRAN Baseband Driver and Tools for VMware ESXi*. This software is for 4th Generation Intel® Xeon® Scalable Edge Enhanced Processors (with Intel® vRAN Boost 1.0) and Intel® vRAN Accelerator ACC100 Adapter. This software enables and configures single root I/O virtualization (SR-IOV) for the Intel vRAN acceleration on VMware ESXi. SR-IOV enables the creation of virtual functions (VFs) from a single Intel vRAN device to support hardware acceleration for multiple guest virtual machines (VMs).

Notes

This software release 2.1.0.134 is replacing 2.0.0.86 which has been recalled due to IPS-00899707 which prevents VMware Telco automation from correctly configuring a vRAN device (see details about the issue in Release Notes).
