2.14. Running the Standalone Version of Signal Tap

You can optionally install a standalone version of the Signal Tap logic analyzer, rather than using the Signal Tap logic analyzer integrated with the Quartus® Prime software.

The standalone version of Signal Tap is useful in a lab environment that lacks a suitable workstation for a complete Quartus® Prime installation, or lacks a full Quartus® Prime software license.

The standalone version of the Signal Tap logic analyzer requires use of the standalone Quartus® Prime Programmer. Both standalone Signal Tap and standalone Programmer are provided in the Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Programmer and Tools package that is available on the Additional Software tab of the Quartus® Prime Pro Edition download page in the FPGA Software Download Center.
