Do you develop software in the cloud? We are working with Google to provide a great experience on Google Cloud Platform for users of Intel Software.

As a small first step, we have published docker images for the Intel® Distribution of Python* in Google's Container Registry. With much faster download speeds than Docker Hub, pulling images is 20-30% faster depending on the instance type and image you are downloading. For more information, please read the instructions for using The Intel Distribution for Python* from containers. The Intel Distribution for Python* includes packages such as NumPy, SciPy, and scikit-learn  optimized for Intel® Skylake processors available on Google Cloud Platform.

For the convenience of Linux users on the Google Cloud Platform, we provide the Intel Distribution for Python*, Intel® Math Kernel Library (Intel® MKL), Intel® Data Analytics Acceleration Library (Intel® DAAL), Intel® Threading Building Blocks (Intel® TBB),Intel® Integrated Performance Primitives (Intel® IPP), and Intel® MPI Library from yum and apt servers. The software is free, including for commercial use.

Look for more to come as we roll out other features to make developing and running in the cloud better with Intel® Software and Google Cloud Platform.
