Introduction
This document provides details about hardware, operating system, and software prerequisites for the Intel® Distribution for GDB*.
Supported Host Operating Systems
These OS distributions are tested by Intel or known to work; other distributions may or may not work and are not recommended. If you have questions, access the Intel Community Forums when you need assistance. If you have Commercial Support, create a support ticket.
Linux* Host
- Linux*: Ubuntu* 20.04, 22.04, RHEL 8, RHEL 9, SLES 15 (all 64-bit extended)
- Dynamic Kernel Module Support (DKMS)
Windows* Host
- Windows* 10, Windows* 11 (all 64-bit extended)
- Intel® oneAPI Base Toolkit installation
- Intel® oneAPI HPC Toolkit installation for OpenMP*
Supported Target Hardware Platforms
CPU Processors
- Intel® Core™ Processor family
- Intel® Xeon® Processor family
- Intel® Xeon® Scalable Performance processors
Accelerators
- FPGA: Emulation device only.
For Linux* users
- Intel® Arc™ Series, Intel® Data Center GPU Flex Series and Intel® Data Center GPU Max.
- Integrated GPUs like Intel® HD Graphics Gen12 or older are not supported with this release.
For Windows* users
- Intel® Arc™ Series.
Software Requirements
For Linux* users
- GNU* GCC* v5.1 or higher
For Windows* users
- For GPU development, the latest GPU drivers need to be installed. This can be downloaded from Intel® Arc™ & Iris® Xe Graphics - WHQL - Window version 31.0.101.4577.

Visual Studio Code (VS Code) Extensions for Intel® oneAPI Toolkits
The VS Code extensions for oneAPI Toolkits provide assistance to developers who are creating, debugging and profiling oneAPI applications. The Using Visual Studio Code with Intel® oneAPI Toolkits User Guide provides additional detail.
