Akshay joined Intel as an AI research engineer and scientist in 2023. His research interests lie at the intersection of real-time graphics and visual perception. Akshay received his PhD in computer science from the University of Cambridge. His PhD work included quality modeling of variable-rate shading (VRS) artifacts, perceptually optimizing low-bandwidth rendering, rendering for 3D displays, and gloss appearance.
Akshay has also worked on video game quality assessment at NVIDIA* Research, computer graphics applications in retail at Walmart* Labs, and structural classification of LiDAR point clouds while working on his master's degree at the International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Bangalore.
