INTEL’S BIGGEST CES – In his Consumer Electronics Show keynote address Thursday in Las Vegas, Intel Corporation President and CEO Paul Otellini marked an historic week for the company by introducing two new platforms -- Intel® Viiv™ technology and the next-generation Intel® Centrino® mobile technology -- along with the ground-breaking Intel® Core™ Duo processor and joint digital entertainment studio commitments from AOL, ClickStar, DIRECTV, NBC, ESPN, Eros, Grupo Televisa, Shanghai Media Group and Turner Network’s GameTap. These joint efforts, together with other recent announcements, will bring millions of movies, television programs, music, games and photos to the home PC on-demand through the Internet. CE’ING STARS – Thursday night’s Consumer Electronics Show keynote by Intel Corporation President and CEO Paul Otellini featured cameos by a trio of Hollywood’s brightest stars. Morgan Freeman (left) was on hand for an announcement regarding ClickStar, a digital entertainment venture of Revelations Entertainment, the production company he and business partner Lori McCreary founded with investment from Intel. Clickstar will debut its first feature film, “10 Items Or Less,” starring Morgan Freeman and Paz Vega, on ClickStar within weeks of its national theatrical release. ClickStar’s service will target millions of broadband consumers worldwide using Intel® Viiv™ technology-based PCs. VIIV COMES ALIVE – At the Consumer Electronics Show on Thursday, Intel Corporation unveiled two new platforms and joint efforts with leading entertainment and media companies that provide the foundation for the company’s digital entertainment and wireless laptop efforts. Among the announcements was the Intel® Viiv™ technology, which is designed to make it easier for people to download, view, manage and share digital entertainment on a wide variety of viewing screens and networked devices such as portable media players, digital TVs and routers. It’s (Almost) Showtime, Folks: Intel Corporation is among 2,500 exhibitors getting ready for this week’s International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. Along with announcements on new technologies and content agreements, Intel will unveil a new brand identity that represents a significant milestone in the company’s history and further signifies the company’s evolution toward market-driving platform solutions. CES is expected to attract 130,000 attendees from Jan. 5-8. |
Setting the Stage: Workers build the platform where new platform technologies from Intel Corporation will be unveiled during this week’s International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. The interactive stage inside the Las Vegas Convention Center is part of the largest presence Intel has ever had at CES. The unveiling of new technologies and a keynote speech by Intel President and CEO Paul Otellini will underscore Intel’s evolution to a customer-oriented platform company.
